50L Laboratory Vertical Kneader
50L vertical kneader for lab-scale mixing, dispersion, degassing, and formulation validation of high-viscosity materials with stable, repeatable results.
The 50L Vertical Kneader is designed for laboratories, pilot workshops, and small-batch production. It is suitable for mixing, dispersing, kneading, and degassing medium- to high-viscosity materials such as silicone sealants, structural adhesives, electronic potting compounds, thermal conductive adhesives, lithium battery slurries, ceramic slurries, rubber compounds, paste cosmetics, and polymer composites. The vertical planetary stirring structure allows the blades to rotate on their own axes while orbiting, and wall-scraping devices help the material undergo continuous shear, folding, and stretching inside the 50L tank, reducing wall build-up and dead corners. This kneader can be equipped with a vacuum system, electric heating or thermal oil heating, PLC control, explosion-proof motors, hydraulic lifting, and bottom discharge valves. It serves as an important scale-up step from 5L or 20L lab kneaders to 100L, 200L, or 500L production kneaders.

How it Works
During operation, the 50L vertical kneader’s planetary blades orbit around the tank center while rotating at different speeds, creating axial and radial circulation inside the vertical tank. Wall-scraping devices continuously return material adhering to the tank wall and bottom to the mixing zone, reducing wall build-up, agglomeration, and dead corners. Under vacuum, the kneader can simultaneously remove air and volatiles, achieving dense kneading, uniform dispersion, and stable degassing of high-viscosity materials. With a jacket heating or cooling system, it can also support heated dispersion, holding reaction, and cooled discharge processes.
Features at a Glance
Planetary Stirring with Wall-Scraping Design
The combined orbiting and self-rotating motion, together with wall-scraping blades, enables the 50L kneader to achieve uniform mixing in lab and small-batch applications, reducing the risk of wall build-up and agglomeration with high-viscosity materials.
Optional Vacuum Degassing Configuration
An optional vacuum system and sealing structure allow the kneader to remove bubbles and volatiles during mixing, improving the density and batch consistency of sealants, slurries, and potting compounds.
Heating, Cooling, and Temperature Management
Supports electric heating jacket or thermal oil circulation heating, with optional cooling function. Paired with a temperature controller, it provides stable temperature control to meet the kneader’s requirements across different process stages.
Lab-to-Small-Batch Production Friendly
The 50L capacity suits formulation verification, pilot scale-up, and small-batch production. Optional PLC/HMI control, variable-frequency speed adjustment, hydraulic lifting, and bottom discharge make it easier to connect with 20L, 100L, and 200L kneaders for process transfer.

Frequently Asked Questions
It is suitable for adhesives, organic silicon, electronic materials, new energy battery slurries, ceramic slurries, rubber compounding, cosmetic pastes, and polymer composites. Final selection should be based on material viscosity, solid content, temperature, and vacuum requirements to confirm the kneader configuration.
A 20L unit is better for small-sample testing and formulation screening; the 50L vertical kneader suits pilot scale-up, process validation, and small-batch production; and a 100L model is better for process validation closer to mass production. If you need to scale up from the lab to production, the 50L kneader is usually a flexible intermediate option.
Yes. It can be customized with an explosion-proof motor, PLC/HMI control, vacuum system, thermal oil heating, SUS316L material, special blade types, and discharge methods. Please provide material viscosity, process temperature, and site power conditions to confirm the final kneader configuration.
To ensure proper kneading performance and stable motor load, the filling coefficient is generally recommended between 0.55 and 0.70. This means the effective loading per batch for a 50L kneader is typically around 27.5L-35L, subject to the material’s specific gravity and viscosity.
A kneader is a mixing machine for high-viscosity materials. Two Z-type (or sigma-type) blades rotate in opposite directions inside the vessel, producing shear, folding and squeezing on the material for uniform kneading. It is widely used for silicone sealant, hot-melt adhesive, butyl rubber and battery slurry.
Vertical kneaders have a vertical vessel with blades entering from above - compact, space-saving, suitable for small-medium batches and frequent changeover. Horizontal kneaders have a horizontal vessel with larger batch capacity, suitable for medium-large production. The choice depends on batch size, workshop space and discharge method.
Kneaders handle pasty materials from 10,000 cP up to several million cP - the range that dispersers and mixers cannot cover. The upper limit depends on blade type, motor configuration and material properties.
The three cover different viscosity ranges. High-speed dispersers handle low-to-medium viscosity slurries below 10,000 cP through high-speed shear; planetary mixers use revolution plus rotation for pastes from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands cP; kneaders are dedicated to materials above 100,000 cP, including semi-dry compounds, using folding and squeezing action - a common choice for sealants, hot-melt adhesives and battery slurry.
