Process Features
RTV silicone sealant production includes polymer synthesis and filler dispersion. The kneader handles the latter: uniformly dispersing fumed silica, calcium carbonate and other fillers into silicone oil base while deaerating the material.
- Viscosity: typically 50,000 - 2,000,000 cP; Z-blade kneading is the only reliable method
- Vacuum deaeration: above -0.095 MPa to avoid air bubbles in finished products
- Temperature accuracy: crosslinkers are temperature sensitive, ±5°C control required
