Process Features
Lithium battery electrode slurry (NMP-based or water-based) consists of active material, conductive carbon black, and binder (PVDF/CMC/SBR). Solid content reaches 50-70% - ordinary agitators cannot achieve the dispersion uniformity required, so kneading/batch-mixing is essential.
- High solids: 50-70%, a paste-to-liquid transitional state
- Dispersion quality: active material agglomerates must be fully opened or capacity and cycle life suffer
- Vacuum control: eliminates bubbles for uniform coating weight
Recommended Models
- Horizontal kneader + high-speed disperser combo: industry-standard process, knead first then dilute
- Vertical kneader: suitable for R&D small batches
Typical Options
- Vacuum system
- High-speed disperser (integrated on some models)
- Cooling system (controls kneading temperature rise)
- Explosion-proof design (NMP solvent)
